About us

Knighton Chamber Orchestra has been in existence since 2004. Founded by Paul Jenkins, a Leicester Cellist and former bass player, the orchestra aims to provide audiences and players with programmes not otherwise catered for in Leicester. The players are keen amateur instrumentalists and music teachers from around Leicester. KCO performs 4 concerts per year and every other year performs an opera under the name Knighton Opera, a group also founded by Paul Jenkins.

A message from Mr Vladimir Ashkenazy,

President Knighton Chamber Orchestra

"It is a pleasure for me to act as President of the Knighton Chamber Orchestra. The British tradition of community music making is unique; it contributes in no small way to keeping music alive in this Country. I wish the KCO well in all its activities in Leicester.”
